Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register as a visitor?
You cannot self-register. Contact the person you are visiting (your host) at the port — they will create your gate pass request on your behalf after logging in. You will then receive SMS and email updates as your request is approved and a link to track its status.
How long does visitor registration approval take?
Typically, hosts and security clear requests within 1-2 hours. You can check the status using the tracking link sent to you by SMS/email. If not approved within 4 hours, contact your host or port administration.
What documents are required for visitor registration?
A valid government-issued ID (Passport, Aadhar, Driving License, or Voter ID) — only the ID number is recorded when your host creates your pass, no document images are uploaded. Bring the original physical ID and be prepared for a photo to be taken at the security desk on arrival.
How do I check in at the gate?
At the main gate, either scan your QR code (for visitors) or place your RFID tag on the reader (for employees). Wait for the gate system to verify and log your entry.
What if my QR code is expired?
You cannot enter with an expired QR code. Ask your host to create a fresh visit request with updated dates.
How do I get my RFID tag?
RFID tags are issued to permanent employees during onboarding. Contact your HR or facilities department if you need a replacement tag.
What should I do if I lose my RFID tag?
Immediately report it to the Security Office. Do not allow others to use it. Request a replacement from your department. There may be a nominal replacement fee.
Can I share my visitor pass with someone else?
No. QR passes are non-transferable and linked to your identity. Sharing or allowing others to use your pass is strictly prohibited and may result in blacklisting.
How long can I stay inside the port premises?
Visitors are typically allowed a maximum of 12 hours per visit. Overstay charges apply after this duration. Check your QR pass for specific duration.
What happens if I am blacklisted?
Blacklisted individuals cannot be issued a pass or enter the port. You can appeal through the port administration office. The status is reviewed every 30 days.
How do I contact support?
You can contact port administration via phone (9876543210), email (support@port.com), or visit the Security Office during business hours.
Can I take photos inside the port?
Photography is strictly prohibited inside port premises for security reasons. Violators may face immediate eviction and blacklisting.
